Membership and Payments

There are 5 (five) categories of membership in the Society:

  • Life Fellow
  • Fellow
  • General Member
  • Honorary Member
  • Fellow-NRB

Life Fellow

Any Fellow of the Society is eligible to become a Life Fellow by contributing once BDT 5,000.00 (Five Thousand) only. A Life Fellow shall be able to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM), become a Panel Member of the Executive Council (EC) and cast vote for electing the EC Panel of the Society. Life Fellows will have priority access to all events and programs organized by the Society.

Fellow

Any General Member of the Society is eligible to become a Fellow by paying annually BDT 1,000.00 (One thousand) only. A Fellow shall be able to attend the AGM, become a Panel Member of the Executive Council and cast vote for electing the EC Panel of the Society. The Fellows will have priority access to all events and programs organized by the Society.

General Member

Any regular faculty member from any private universities in Bangladesh by paying annually BDT 500.00 (five hundred) only, and subject to approval of EC, can become General Member of the Society. The General Members shall be able to join the activities to be circulated time to time by the Society. General members, compared with nonmembers, will get priority invitation and access to all such programs and events and will enjoy, if there is fee, the discounted fees, preferential rates, etc. in the society events and offerings by other MOU partner institutions like financial institutions, IT and IT services, R&D centers, hospitality and tourism industry, group insurance schemes, health providers, etc.

NRB Fellow

Any Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) academic from any foreign universities is eligible to become a Fellow-NRB of the Society by paying Once USD 50 (fifty dollar) only. A Fellow-NRB shall be able to join the events and programs organized by the Society. However, they shall not be eligible to cast vote and to become a Panel Member of the Executive Council of the Society.

Honorary Member

Any adjunct and part-time faculty members teaching regularly in any private universities in Bangladesh can become, by paying annually BDT 1000.00 (One thousand) only, and subject to approval of EC, an Honorary Member of the Society. An Honorary Member shall be able to join the activities to be circulated time to time by the Society. However, they shall not be eligible for any voting rights and or to become a Panel Member of the Executive Council of the Society.

Termination

As per the bylaws of BSPUA, in the following circumstances, any membership shall be terminated:

  1. on death or resignation
  2. on his failing to pay any subscription as when decided by the Society
  3. he/she duly declared to be incompetent to contract or debarred from membership by any court of law
  4. he/she is guilty in the opinion the Executive Council by two-three ((2/3) majority, of improper conduct or on refusal to comply with or violation of any of the Rules and Regulations or Bylaws of the Society.
